sushi dinner
. Lucie 75
A sushi dinner for Lucie’s 75th birthday, with every object on the table made for that night.
The brief was a themed dinner to celebrate Lucie’s 75th birthday. The menu was sushi, so the table needed its own set of pieces: boxes to serve it, chopsticks to eat it, a bowl and a stand to hold it.
The boxes were designed from scratch and produced in wood on a laser cutter. The chopsticks were laser engraved to match.
The ceramic pieces started as 3D drawings. The bowl and the stand were printed in resin, and the prints were used to make the moulds. The final pieces were cast in porcelain, finished with a transparent glaze and a line of 24K gold.
Three materials, one meal. Wood, porcelain and gold, designed to sit together on the same table.
